    這份一九九三年採用英國國王學院合唱團為班底灌錄的彌賽亞，使用的是一七五二年韓德爾再次指揮此劇演出時的版本，並經由Donald Burrows校定過。當年，這份錄音是出版在笛卡旗下的副廠Argo的系列中，多年來並沒有再版，許多人想找這份錄音都一直沒有機會，時隔將近二十年，終於再版問世，千萬不能再錯過。


    在這份錄音當時，古樂團版的彌賽亞已經取代了傳統樂團錄音，成為風尚，因此這份錄音也請到了英國的古樂團布蘭登堡古樂團來擔任伴奏。布蘭登堡古樂團是由知名的古樂小提琴家羅伊古德曼創辦，九零年代，該團和國王學院有很密切的合作，也錄製了韓德爾的另一齣神劇「以色列在埃及」和巴哈馬太、約翰受難曲等。在當時，他們除了灌錄彌賽亞的錄音，也一起錄製了彌賽亞的電視節目，於一九九六年播出，這份演出還贏得英國的金天使獎最佳音樂節目獎。


    片中的女高音主唱琳道森原本是知名的希利亞（Hilliard）合唱團的重要團員，長久以來就是韓德爾專家，一九九七年黛安娜王妃葬禮上演唱了威爾第安魂曲中的女高音樂章而聲名大噪，揚名樂壇。
